The Shade Shop is the destination for design-conscious homeowners and interior designers who understand that the right lampshade defines a room as much as anything else in it.

Based in Charlottesville, Virginia, we hold the most extensive in-stock inventory of Fermoie lampshades in the United States and serve as the exclusive American partner for Ian Sanderson. Our curated collection extends to lampshades crafted from fabrics by Gracie, Fortuny, Gucci, Schumacher, and Rose Cumming, among others. Custom lampshades are also available, handcrafted to order from client-supplied or in-house materials.

Founded in the late 1990s and acquired by Kara Williams in 2016, The Shade Shop serves clients in person in Charlottesville and nationwide through theshadeshop.com — and has been featured in Architectural Digest, House Beautiful, Traditional Home, and Southern Living.
